Carl: Chronic Sinus issues, extensive tests done but no evident conditions arose. Carl sounds congested at times but always loves the company of people and other cats.

Crooked: sweet, loveable, beautiful young calico. Came to the shelter with a crooked tilt to her head to discover it was only a severe inner ear infection. She has been treated for it and doing fine. Loves other cats too.

Holly: Siamese mix, sweet, loves attention when she wants. Had fallen out of a window four stories down. Is suspected to have some brain damage which sets her off. She is 4 yrs. old and would do great in a home. >

Ladd: He is a sweet handsome guy. Came from a cat hoarding situation with hundreds of cats that were inbred. Due to this, at birth he was born with a minor birth defect in his rear legs, he walks a little funny.

Sophie: Adorable, sweet and loving. Came to the shelter with a severe wound that developed a skin condition. She is extremely affectionate and skin condition improving every week on her medication. Loves attention.

CLAWS is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit cat rescue and adoption shelter located in Augusta, NJ.

Founded in 2002, our sole purpose is to rescue and house stray, abandoned, neglected, and abused cats.

Everyday, thousands of cats and kittens are left homeless, with no shelter or place to go. Most of them are abused. It seems to be a never ending problem. We cannot take them all, but the ones that we do are given proper veterinary care, a clean, comfortable place to stay, and the security of knowing they are being taken care of until they find a permanent loving, stable home.

CLAWS only operates on public donations and small adoption fees ($40/cat). We are a private shelter and do not get state funding. Our adoption success rate has been incredible, but we are always in need of more wonderful adoptive homes for a wide variety of special, loving cats.

Located at 28 Pelletown Road in Augusta, NJ, our shelter is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
